Why DEC

Not a steel yard. A processing partner.

Commodity service centers sell material and process it as an afterthought. General fabricators take the whole job — and quote you the whole queue standing in front of it. DEC Metals does one thing: advanced, multi-step metal processing.

Cutting, forming, beveling and CNC machining happen in sequence, in one building, under one job number. That means fewer vendors between raw plate and a weldable component. Fewer handoffs where tolerance quietly drifts. And a lead time your estimator can actually build a schedule around.

If your components have to arrive exact and on time, you don't need another supplier. You need a partner who owns the entire sequence and answers for the result.

Built for mid-to-large regional contractors, structural fabricators and OEMs who cannot afford jobsite delays or out-of-spec deliveries.
How we work

What “on-target” actually means here.

01

Engineering-grade precision

Tolerances, bevels and cuts executed to exact specification, so parts fit on the first try. Nobody on your floor should be grinding a part to make the drawing work.

02

Operational velocity

Aggressive turnarounds on complex, multi-step processing. Your throughput measured against your schedule — not our backlog.

03

Frictionless partnership

Straight answers from in-house estimators, honest status on every job, and flexible staging built around how B2B trade actually runs.

04

Industrial integrity

Four decades of hands-on metalworking. Established 1980, still family-run, still on the floor.

Capabilities

Four service lines. One floor.

Structured for how buyers search and how estimators quote. Multi-step jobs move between lines without ever leaving the building.

Every line above is quoted, run and staged in-house. No brokered secondary operations, no third-party lead times layered onto yours.

Process

From print to weld-ready in four steps.

01

Send the print.

Drawings, a cut list or a bill of materials is enough to start. DXF, DWG, STEP or a marked-up PDF all work.

02

We quote in-house.

Our estimators price the job on our own floor and our own capacity — so the lead time you're given is the lead time we control.

03

We run the sequence.

Cut, bevel, form, machine, deburr. The job moves between lines on one work order, and tolerance is checked at each handoff instead of at the end.

04

It ships ready to work.

Staged, cleaned and kitted to your build order — so the first thing your crew does with it is install it, not fix it.

Coverage

Built in Central Florida. Delivered across the Southeast.

DEC Metals runs out of Lakeland, in the middle of the I-4 corridor — an hour from Tampa, an hour from Orlando, and inside a day's freight of most of the Southeast. Polk County is home, but it isn't the limit.

We compete on capability rather than proximity, which is exactly what lets the work travel. When components have to arrive exact and on schedule, distance is a logistics question. It is not a quality one.
