Drawings, a cut list or a bill of materials is enough to start. Our estimators price the job against our own floor and our own capacity — which is the only reason we can commit to a date and mean it.
Send whatever you've got.
Ideal — DXF or DWG for profiles, STEP for anything machined, plus a dimensioned PDF showing tolerances, material grade and finish requirements.
Workable — A marked-up PDF. A cut list in a spreadsheet. A photograph of a hand sketch with dimensions on it. We've quoted from worse and gotten it right.
Also useful — the bill of materials if you want the job kitted, and your delivery schedule if it's phased.

We acknowledge it — same day.
A human confirms we have your files and tells you who's got it. You'll know your drawings landed, which is more than most shops manage.
An estimator prices it.
Usually within one business day, on our own equipment and our own schedule. If something in the drawing will fight the process, you hear about it now rather than at delivery.
You get a number and a date.
Both real. We don't quote lead times we can't hold.
If it's a fit, we book it.
PO in, job on the schedule, one work order from raw plate through to staged and ready to ship.
What makes a quote fast.
Quotes slow down for predictable reasons. Head these off and you'll usually get a number the same day:
Material grade specified, not just thickness — grade changes both price and process.
Tolerances called out where they actually matter, so we're not pricing the whole part to the tightest number on the drawing.
Quantity and repeat expectation — a one-off and a monthly release price very differently.
A real delivery date — “as soon as possible” is the one answer we can't schedule against.
None of this is required. All of it helps.

DEC Metals is a B2B processing operation built around repeat volume and scheduled production. We're a strong fit for structural fabricators, infrastructure contractors, OEMs and modular manufacturers.
We don't do walk-in retail, single-piece orders, or general job-shop fabrication. If that's what you're after, we'd rather tell you now and point you somewhere better than waste a week of yours.
