Advanced CNC Machining, Turning and Structural Sawing

CNC milling, lathe turning and structural sawing on the same floor as the cutting and forming — so one company takes a component from raw plate to finished, and one company answers for it.

The problem

Every time a part changes vendors, it changes datum.

A machined feature is only as good as the reference it was cut from. When a part is profiled at one shop, formed at another and machined at a third, each shop picks up the part and decides for itself which edge to work from. The drawing said one datum. The part has now been referenced from three.

Tolerances that were fine individually stack into a bolt pattern that doesn't line up, and nobody can tell you which vendor owns it — so everybody blames the drawing.

Machining on the same floor as cutting and forming removes the argument. The part is referenced from the same datum the whole way through, by people who can walk twenty feet and look at the previous operation. When a bolt pattern has to line up with a formed flange, that proximity is the entire ballgame.

CNC Milling (Haas)

Milled faces, pockets, slots, counterbores and drilled or tapped patterns on plate and formed components. Programmed from the model, so the tenth part and the thousandth carry identical features.

CNC Lathe Turning

Shafts, pins, bushings, spacers, sleeves and adapters produced to print alongside the plate work — so an assembly needing both doesn't need two suppliers.

Structural Sawing

Square and mitred cuts on beam, tube, bar and heavy section, cut to length and ready to fit.
