Heavy Plate Forming, Shearing and Structural Punching

Heavy plate formed to angle and held there, part after part — so fit-up in your shop is a placement job, not a persuasion job.

The problem

The fiftieth part has to match the first.

Forming heavy plate is where shops quietly lose their tolerance. Thick material springs back, and how much it springs back depends on the grade, the heat, the rolling direction, and where in the plate it came from. A shop that doesn't account for that gets a run where the first ten parts are right and the rest wander.

You find out on the assembly floor. A bracket that sits proud. A gusset that won't square. A crew with a sledge, persuading a part into a joint that was drawn at ninety degrees.

We form for the run, not the sample — compensating for springback by material and thickness so the angle holds from the first piece to the last. Consistency is the product here. A single correct part is easy; five hundred identical ones is the job.

Heavy Press Brake

Flanges, channels, angles, offsets and multi-break profiles. Programmed backgauge positioning means bend location repeats as reliably as bend angle.

Shearing & Punching

Shearing squares plate more cheaply than thermal cutting when the geometry is simple, and punching a repeated hole pattern beats drilling it on cost and cycle time.

Structural Forming

Stiffeners, seats, brackets, embeds and support geometry, produced to a drawing and to a schedule rather than to whatever the shop can fit in.
